Good links help SEO: They improve rankings, increase PageRank, and support site authority.
Bad links hurt SEO: They destroy rankings, give no PageRank or authority, and maybe poison and the average site owner cannot tell the difference.
It’s not uncommon to urge an email offering you followed links on high domain authority websites. Sounds good — the rates are reasonable, and everyone links help, right?
Well, absolutely the other is true. Google has strict rules about link schemes in its webmaster guidelines (more thereon later).
